Over the past few weeks, since a trip to AZ where I used a friend's network, my computer has bogged down considerably, certain programs cannot be installed, others take MUCH longer to open, and I started getting the ox-social.bidsystem.com/w/1.0 issue others have reported (which is what brought me here), and my Zone Alarm anti-virus add-in for Outlook has been disabled and cannot be re-enabled.

I've been through the READ & RUN ME FIRST thread, and here is what I've gotten:

    RogueKiller - file attached
    MBAM - file attached
TDSSKiller - no file available. Had 2 error messages while running this program:

Warning: Can't initialize log (Initialization 10%)
    Click OK

Error: Can't load driver (Initialization 40%)
    Click OK

    468 Objects, No threats found

No report available after scan runs

    HitManPro - file attached
    MGTools - file attached

Please let me know if I've missed or omitted anything in this post that you need to help me!

I am not finding any malware in your logs. However, your MGLogs did not populate. Did you encounter any error messages when you ran it? Let's try again:

Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista or Win7, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).Make sure that you watch for the license agreement for TrendMicro HijackThis and click on the Accept button TWICE to accept ( yes twice ).

    Then attach the below logs:

    * C:\MGlogs.zip

    Tim -

Thanks for getting back to me.

When I run MGTools I get a number of error messages while it runs, nor do I get any messages to run TrendMicro HijackThis. It says it is looking for a number of files, and after running for a bit it just stops and the command prompt window closes.

Do I need to re-install MGTools, or is this indicative of a malware problem?

I've attached the zip file I got from running it just now, but not sure if there's anything in it.

I think your issues are system problems rather than malware, however, let's do this:

    Download OTL to your desktop.

    • Double click on the icon to run it. Make sure all other windows are closed and to let it run uninterrupted.
    • Vista and Windows 7 users Right-click OTL and choose Run as Administrator)
    • When the window appears, underneath Output at the top change it to Minimal Output.
    • Check the boxes beside LOP Check and Purity Check.
    • Click the Run Scan button. Do not change any settings unless otherwise told to do so. The scan wont take long.

When the scan completes, it will open two notepad windows. OTL.Txt and Extras.Txt. These are saved in the same location as OTL.

Attach both of these logs into your next reply.

I am not finding any malware in your logs. But try this:

Download Windows Repair by Tweaking.com and unzip the contents into a newly created folder on your desktop.

    • Now run Repair_Windows.exe by double clicking on it ( if you are running Vista or Win 7, use right click and select Run As Administrator)
    • Now select the Start Repairs tab.
    • The click the Start button.
    • Create a System Restore point if prompted.
    • On the next screen, click the Unselect All button to first deselect all repairs.
    • Now select the following repair options:
      • Reset Registry Permissions
      • Reset File Permissions
      • Register System Files
      • Repair WMI
      • Repair Windows Firewall
      • Remove Policies Set By Infections
      • Repair Winsock & DNS Cache
      • Repair Proxy Settings
      • Repair Windows Updates
      • Set Windows Services To Default Startup

    • Now on the lower right side check the box to Restart/Shutdown System When Finished
    • Then make sure the Restart System radio button is enabled.
    • Shutdown any other programs that you are running now before continuing.
    • Now click the Start button.
    • Be patient while the tool repairs the selected items.
    • It should reboot automatically when finished.
