    Don't install the Catalyst drivers. Open Device Manager, and navigate to your video card and check what drivers it is using.

    To open Device Manager:

    Start -> Run

    type devmgmt.msc, hit enter

    Expand Display Adapter

    Right-click on your video card, select Properties

    Click-on Driver tab

    Check what drivers your card is using.

    Well, after a game of counter-strike it the screen always shrinks like mini size (kinda like safe mode) and i manully have to change it back

    Ok, heres my problem so far:

    The only way ATI Video will work would be to uninstall all ATI related items and then restart the computer. I then install ATI from "Found New Hardware Wizard." This gets very annoying and I want to know how to make it work 24/7. The error message I get before I uninstall all ATI related items is "ATI Contol Panel Cannot be initialized or the ATI Driver is not working properly." I have installed the driver update (Catalyst 5.7)

    Sorry, DirectX 9.0c can't be uninstalled. A repair install may be in order.

    Another option:

    At the recovery console issue the following command:

    sfc /scannow

    this will replace any corrupt files with the latest good version on the system, either from the service packs folder or the CD. You will have to run windows update after running this command.
