computer keeps ejecting cd rom drive

i am working on a computer that constantly ejects the cd drive. u push it in, it comes right back out. i suspected adware/spyware. ran cwshredder, spybot and adaware, removed tons of stuff. but the problem persists. any suggestions?

try running a more advanced antivirus program such as mcafee or norton. It might be something a little bit bigger than adware or spyware.

 

Disconnect the 40-pin cable from the CD drive and see if it still happens. That will tell us if it's a problem with the drive itself or the system repeatedly giving it the eject command.
