Hi there Paul70 the thing is you might think you have no nasties, but it may be something that has been missed with the scans you have ran, i suggest you click on this link http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35407 , follow all the instructions, if something dosen't run, don't worry just continue, if you get stuck with anything don't be afraid to ask, then after everything is done post the logs into the malware forum, then be patient as the malware fighters can get really busy at times, but they will get round to helping you !

Some of the scans on the malware forum are deep scans and dig out some of the more nasties that some of your normal scans miss !

    Good Luck Rusty ! ;)

When you say "my pc just turns its self off" do you mean it goes through the shutdown sequence or it just immediately goes blank and perhaps starts a reboot on it's own.

If it's not going through the shutdown sequence but just going blank, you may have a hardware issue such as bad RAM or possibly bad capacitors on the mainboard.

    Hi

    What Windows version?

Does this happen in the same application you maybe using like a game etc? ir just very random?

If a random shutdown then also check that your PC is clean and free from dust and fluff and any fans that are installed are spinning, especially CPU and Graphic Card (be careful as you will need side of case off, so not putting fingers in to check!)

Can check temps with this HERE as high temps can cause random shutdowns, CPU, Motherboard/system and graphic card/GPU temps if poss, after say 30 mins of usage.

Also do you get an BSOD codes? if so what are then in full?
Check when it happens again the Event Viewer Logs, for System, Application for an Error at the time of the shutdown and pop if their are a few of them into a text file and attach to next post using these instructions HERE

A complete computer turn off in 99% of cases means a heat problem.

Check your fans and make sure the inside is clean. If a fan is marginal and stops, that could be enough to trigger the computer shut down.
