I went through the RUN ME FIRST tutorial and did everything as explained but could not do it in Safe Mode becuase this is my work computer and i don't have administrator access. I am still having problems with some pop-ups and some other weird things that shouldnt be going on. My logs are attached below.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

You need to empty your Symantec Quarantine as requested in step 1 of the READ ME. Do this now before continuing.
Also see step 3 of the READ ME, you did not enable viewing of file extensions which explains why you renamed hijackthis.exe to analyse.exe.exe instead of analyse.exe. You must correctly set all the options specified.

Continue by downloading a tool we will need - Pocket KillBox

Save it to its own folder somewhere that you will be able to locate it later.

Run HijackThis and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {12BD2C2E-87B9-4D57-B3FD-95B5FA3BD973} - (no file)
    O2 - BHO: 0 - {1BAEC453-FDD9-4569-1DB8-34FD8284734D} - (no file)
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {67C55A8D-E808-4caa-9EA7-F77102DE0BB6} - (no file)
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {D651AFF4-9590-424d-BD1E-8E33E090DFB3} - (no file)
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [bantool] C:\WINNT\system32\micro1\b9.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ms075824-179842] C:\WINNT\ms075824-179842.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [WindowsService] rundll32.exe "C:\WINNT\system32\ayjryctc.dll",realset
    O9 - Extra button: PartyPoker.com - {B7FE5D70-9AA2-40F1-9C6B-12A255F085E1} - C:\Program Files\PartyGaming\PartyPoker\RunApp.exe (file missing)
    O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: PartyPoker.com - {B7FE5D70-9AA2-40F1-9C6B-12A255F085E1} - C:\Program Files\PartyGaming\PartyPoker\RunApp.exe (file missing)
    O20 - Winlogon Notify: pmkhh - C:\WINNT\system32\pmkhh.dll (file missing)

    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

Copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixME.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.

Now run Pocket Killbox by doubleclicking on killbox.exe
    • select File, Cleanup, Delete All Backups
    • Choose Tools > Delete Temp Files and click Delete Selected Temp Files.
    • Then after it deletes the files click the Exit (Save Settings) button.
NOTE: Pocket Killbox will only list the added files it is able to find on the system. So when you do the below, if some files do not show in the list after pasting them in, just continue.

    Select:
    • Delete on Reboot
    • then Click on the All Files button.
    • Please copy the file paths below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy):

    C:\WINNT\ms075824-179842.exe
    C:\WINNT\svchost.exe
    C:\WINNT\system32\1161095740.exe
    C:\WINNT\system32\1170071037.exe
    C:\WINNT\system32\ayjryctc.dll
    C:\WINNT\system32\BrwsPtnr.dll
    C:\WINNT\system32\bund1\ClientBundle1.exe
    C:\WINNT\system32\hhkmp.bak1
    C:\WINNT\system32\hhkmp.bak2
    C:\WINNT\system32\hhkmp.tmp
    C:\WINNT\system32\hhkmp.tmp2
    C:\WINNT\system32\micro1\b9.exe
    C:\WINNT\system32\pmkhh.dll
    C:\WINNT\system32\wkcajax.dll
    C:\WINNT\system32\adwojmjo.ini
    C:\WINNT\system32\ctcyrjya.ini
    C:\WINNT\system32\hhkmp.ini
    C:\WINNT\system32\hhkmp.ini2
    C:\WINNT\system32\jtphoswl.ini
    C:\WINNT\system32\drivers\core.cache.dsk
    • Return to Killbox, go to the File menu, and choose Paste from Clipboard.
    • Click the red-and-white Delete File button. Click Yes at the Delete on Reboot prompt.
If you receive a PendingFileRenameOperations prompt, just click OK to continue (But please let me know if you receive this message!).

If Killbox does not reboot just reboot your PC yourself.

After reboot locate the below folders and delete if found:
    C:\WINNT\system32\bund1
    C:\WINNT\system32\micro1

    Now run Ccleaner!

Now attach the below new logs and tell me how the above steps went.

    1. GetRunKey
    2. ShowNew
    3. HJT

Make sure you tell me how things are working now!

Reminder Note: Once we have determined you are malware free you will need to disable System Restore, reboot, and re-enable system restore per step 1 of the READ & RUN ME. This only applies to if using WinXP or WinMe.

I think i got the Symantec quarantine emptied right this time. The directions on their website doesn't apply to the antivirus i have so i tried my best. I also enabled the extensions and renamed HJT. When i ran Killbox, my computer did not want to restart so i manually shut it down. Both the bund1 and micro1 folders showed up when i searched for them so i deleted them. My new logs are posted below. I think the HJT one is the new one. Thanks for your help! My internet already seems to be going much faster. OH.. also.. while i was doing what you suggested i saved your instructions as a word doc and went through them. For some reason a copy of that document was made on my desktop but named a lil different "~$lcome to Major Geeks.doc". I deleted it.

You HijackThis log indicates nothing was fixed. Please make sure you have attach a new HJT log that was obtained after actually fixing everything. You should not have gotten a new HJT log until the end of the procedure. Even the time shown in your HJT log indicates that it was run way before GetRunKey and ShowNew. The HJT log should have a time stamp that shows it was run after these two scans. Attach a new HJT log.

And according to your ShowNew log, none of the files were deleted. This is more than likely due to the fact that Killbox was not able to reboot your PC. This is going to be trouble to fix since you say you do not have the ability to boot in safe mode. Let's try this! Try locating and deleting the files I asked you to delete with Killbox and delete them manually (using Windows Explorer). Make sure no browsers are opened when you try to delete these files. Tell me what you could and could not delete. Then reboot and attach a new log from ShowNew.

I tried everything you said in your first reply again. Ran killbox and it came up with the PendingFileRenameOperations error and did not reboot. I rebooted it myself then continued withwhat you said in your second reply. I manually deleted almost all of the files you wanted me to delete in killbox except for these 5 that i couldn't find.

    C:\WINNT\svchost.exe
    C:\WINNT\system32\BrwsPtnr.dll
    C:\WINNT\system32\bund1\ClientBundle1.exe
    C:\WINNT\system32\micro1\b9.exe
    C:\WINNT\system32\pmkhh.dll

The bund1 and micro1 folders did not show up because i had deleted them on the first go-round. MY new logs are attached below. Thanks again! Computer seems to be running normal again after all that.

Okay your logs are clean. Let's get to our final steps.

First uninstall the Sunbelt CounterSpy trial since we are finished with it now! Then delete the below two folders which may be left behind by the uninstall:
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Sunbelt Software
    C:\Program Files\Sunbelt Software

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. If we used Pocket Killbox during your cleanup, do the below
      • Run Pocket Killbox and select File, Cleanup, Delete All Backups
    2. If we used ComboFix you can delete the ComboFix.exe file and associated C:\combofix.txt log that was created.
    3. If we user SDFix you can delete all the SDFix related files and folders from your Desktop or whereever you installed it.
    4. If we used VundoFix, you can delete the VundoFix.exe file and the C:\VundoFix Backups folder and C:\vundofix.txt log that was created.
    5. If we had your run FixWareOut, you can delete the Fixwareout.exe file and the C:\fixwareout folder.
    6. If we had you run Avenger, you can delete all files related to Avenger now.
    7. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    8. You can delete the ShowNew.Zip and GetRunkey.Zip files and the files that you extracted from the ZIP files. You can also delete the C:\newfiles.txt and C:\runkeys.txt logs that were created
    9. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
