I was just reading your sticky on "How to protect yourself from malware." I'm planning to implement your ideas but wanted to check first if there are updated guidelines (e.g., recommended programs, etc.), since that post was written a few years ago.

    Thanks

    Hi Eric,

The "Sticky" threads are all very much up-to-date as they are revised regularly by our Authorized Malware Fighters. You can see by the edit comment at the bottom of the post that this was done last on August 31st. You can go ahead and protect your computer using this advice and support knowing you are getting the very latest versions of applications :)

:confused There are two guides on 'how to protect yourself from malware' which I think is a bit odd. This guide is up to date with current info. But this guide (while it is very similar) is not so current and was last updated in 2006 (Dec 04 to be exact). So, what's the point of my post??? None really... just that there's 2 guides, both are excellent, but one is up to date more than the other. ;)

(perhaps one of the mods or admins will take note and put the same guide in both places; the older one is in the 'Guides > Malware' section; the newer one is in the Malware Removal forum)
