    Hi Guys,

Got a new computer, ASRock 775 VSTA, Installed via drivers, video wdm, audio, etc

When playing a game the computer resets itself, or the audio drops out when playing a song or movie,

Any Idea's on what it could be?

Heating issue or memory issue is my first guess.

CPU is at 48c, its a ASRock 775Dual-VSTA, I upgraded to the latest bios, their is SO many BIOS options, I am scared just moving around in it, I am very rusty when it comes to computers, been out of it for quite a while and it has changed a heap.

Shouldn't be the memory becuase it appears to only do it while gaming, even playing ZUMA REVENGE, around 15 to 20 mins in, graphics quickly corrupt, then a hard reset.

Would that be a BIOS setting causing it? I am using a Intel Pentium 2160 1.8GHz, not overclocked, at BIOS defaults, everything is at BIOS default settings. I haven't had a hard reset while just using windows itself yet, touch wood.

Any recommendations, idea's on how to find out what it 'Could' be, I am also using a Radeon X1950 Pro, Could it be that, How can I find out if it is possibly that? I don't have a spare videocard to test another adaptor.

I did a CLEAN format, Installed My Slip Streamed version of Windows XP OEM & SP3, I installed the VIA Hyperion Chipset Drivers, RealTEK HD Sound Drivers, Lan Driver, ATI Standalone WDM Drivers (Latest from ATI.COM), I have NO hardware question marks, everything appears to be installed and working fine. I am a bit baffled at what it 'May' be, Please help, I am getting extremly frustrated, I forked out $250 for this setup out of money I didn't have to spend, and I just want it to work and atleast run slighly more smoothly.

    Cheers & Thanks in advance.

Check your Graphic cards temps and what are they, can do this with the Ati Catalyst Control Centre.

Could in the end just be a bad install of Windows and drivers, while it seems to work and no errors in Dev Manager, weird issues can occur, do though check in the Event Viewer for any errors at the exact time of a reboot and attach in a text file the error and message.

Do you get any BSODs? if so what are the code and message.

I can't find the videocard temp features at all in the catalyst control centre :S

The event viewer has quite a few errors, etc, don't know what exactly I am looking for...

Using Everest Ultimate Edition Trial, I see the videocard temp hanging around 57c, which isn't too shabby. I haven't run a game then quickly quit and checked it, will do that shortly with Max Payne 2 or 3DMark 05.

Installing NET2.0, ATI Catalyst Full Install & The latest VIA Hyperion drivers over the older original ones I got from ASRocks website, DirectX Runtime (August 2009 via 3rd Party server) seems to have helped with the stability side of things, it isn't doing as many weird things as it was originally doing, has not fixed the problem with accessing microsoft.com/? website!
