Computer running very slowly

    Last week I noticed that my computer was running VERY SLOWLY. I went through the Major Geeks checklist and everything appeared to run correctly, no major problems found.

    My kids use my laptop & I'm wondering if I have something in the background that I can't see? I know how to run hijack this but am always afraid to actually stop items from running.

    Can anyone help?
