Computer Seems To Slow Down Regularly

I have posted this in the Hardware Forum but in truth I don't know whether the problem is software or hardware but here goes.
About a week or so I imported a load of photos into Adobe Lightroom and it became incredibly slow: taking 5 minutes to render a single image. It would then settle down and then the same thing would happen again. To begin with I thought the problem was Lightroom but given that I had not made any updates to it I am now not sure. I did run Process Explorer when LR was stuck and it was not clocking up huge amounts of CPU time (about 3%) and neither was anything else.
I also noticed the computer became very slow occasionally doing other things eg running File Explorer and populating the left hand panel so I started to think it may be a disk related problem.
I have downloaded and run Crystal Disk Info and indeed it is showing a problem with my main D: drive (a 3tb SATA) and this is the drive where I store my photos. However I don't really understand why it is telling me this drive has a problem when I look at the data it is giving me and comparing it with the 2 other disks on my computer (c: 256gb SSD, k: external 2tb backup drive).
I have attached the Crystal Disk Info screen shots for each drive. The only Red item on my D drive is a Reallocated Sector Count of 1 when that is much higher on other drives and they are flagged as healthy.
Please can someone advise if they concur that my D drive is the root of the problem, why a Reallocated Sector Count of 1 is so bad especially when compared with the other drives and whether there is anything else on the report for the D drive that is causing the Bad Health status. System is Dell XPS XPS 8700 i7 Quad, 32 gb RAM, Win 10 Home 21H1.

    Thanks

A reallocated sector error certainly can cause a system slow down when that drive is being utilized.

The first thing to do is to back up all the files on that drive you do not want to lose.

Sadly, in most cases, there is no fix for this error, but to replace the drive. This is because such an error often indicates actual physical damage to that sector of the disk. If it is still under warranty, contact Toshiba for an RMA.

Once backed up, I recommend opening an elevated command prompt (as administrator) and entering the following command:

chkdsk d: /r then press Enter.

Since this is not the boot drive, chkdsk should just start running. However, if there are any open files, you may be prompted to allow chkdsk to run at next boot. Follow the prompts to allow that process to proceed.

Note since this is such a large drive, it could take many hours, even more than a full day to run and appear to be locked up. Just let it run until completed.

If the error remains after chkdsk completes (and it probably will :() I recommend you replace the drive ASAP. You can still use the drive, but there is a much greater risk of corruption and further drive errors. So for sure, I would not store anything critical on that drive. And as always, keep regular backups.

Thanks Digerati, I’ve started the chkdsk (drive is already backed up). ETA fluctuating between 24 and 48 hours so I will await its results…..

Sadly, with some computers, the chkdsk process becomes suspended when the computer goes into sleep mode. So you may need to occasionally stop by and press the space bar or wiggle the mouse or do whatever you do to wake your computer so the process resumes.

It's a bit late now but before I do anything that I think might take a long time, I go into the power settings and make sure it never goes to sleep. (computer and monitor)

    Thanks for your replies.
I ran the chkdsk and after about 4 days it got to stage 5 but was going really slow so I stopped it. Unfortunately it has not fixed the problem so it looks like a new hdd.
