Computer slower and maybe possible threats

    Hi,

I ran the malware removal and cleaning procedure because this morning, after a Malwarebytes scan, 43 threats showed up. While I have noticed my laptop is not as quick as it used to be, I chalked it up to age since it's been a couple years since I had it. But I've also noticed that when opening Google Chrome, my pinned webpages don't always load on the first try. I'll either have to reload or restart the browser. Another thing I've noticed is that while playing a game through Facebook, the game will stall, lag, or I'll have to refresh the entire page. Though it could be an issue with my internet and a completely different issue from my laptop.

Anyhow, here are the logs and I hope I've got all of them done correctly. If someone could check them, it would be very much appreciated. Thank you!

Part of the first instructions in the READ & RUN ME FIRST stated that you must not use multiple antivirus programs of multiple firewalls. You have the below showing in your logs:

    Avira Free Antivirus
    McAfee Agent
    Norton Internet Security

You should uninstall ALL of the above now to resolve complications due to installing to many security programs and while at it, I would uninstall the below too:
    Advanced SystemCare 5

Now run RogueKiller and run a scan. After it finishes the scan, select the Registry tab and then select any of the below that exist and then click the Delete button.

    Then immediately reboot your PC.

After reboot, run a new scan with RogueKiller and save a log as in original instructions and attach the new log.

Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista or Win7, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).

    Then attach the below logs:
    • the new RogueKiller log
    • C:\MGlogs.zip

Sorry, I hadn't even realized McAfee and Norton were installed. I always thought those were just there to install if I ever chose to. But I uninstalled all of the programs including Advance SystemCare 5 and ran the scans.

That looks better. So how are things working now?

Much better actually. Not too sure about how the speed has changed since yet, but it's looking okay. At least my browser's been loading better with pinned pages. Would it be okay for me to reinstall Avira again? Or is there something more that I need to fix?

Yes part of the below final instructions cover protection.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. You can uninstall RogueKiller and HitManPro.
    2. Go back to step 6 oof the READ ME and renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it.
    3. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    4. If running Vista or Win 7, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    6. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders
related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    7. If you are running Win 7, Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning procedures pointed to by step 7 of the READ ME
for your Window version and see the instructions to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    8. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:

Thanks so much! I do have one more question though, how do I uninstall RogueKiller and HitManPro? I can find any uninstall options for the two.

I also forgot to ask if it is okay to delete the logs along with the other programs. I'm assuming the other programs like TDSSKiller didn't actually install since it's .exe, so I'm wondering if I just delete the file, it gets rid of the program.

    You're welcome.

If you first complete my final instructions, many things will be cleaned up automatically. Anything else left afterwards can be uninstall ( if it really had an install ) or simply deleted otherwise.
