    Hi,

First time posting and I followed everything on the "READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support" before I posted this.
AVG antivirus has reported that I had 3 Viruses:
    - Trojan horse Exploit.Downloader in 2 areas
    - Java/ByteVerify
Also, Bitdefender on-line scanner said I had:
    - RegPatch A

There is no more files that contain those viruses when I have re-checked. I either deleted the file myself and Bitdefender on-line scan deleted RegPatch A for me.

This is a brand new system and is suppose to be really fast so the problem that I'm having is when I open My Computer, My Documents or Internet Explorer etc. it's slow to load; it takes about 5 to 10 seconds which before it was instant. Once it's open navigating to other file folders is fast.
It wasn't slow before and was lightning fast.
Also, my games are a bit slower and can't take too much high settings for the video options.

I will paste the Hijack log along with my computer specifics.

Pls see if you can review the log and see if there is anything wrong with my computer.

    Thank you!

    Welcome to MGs!

Please READ what the stickies tell you. No logs are to be posted inline. They must be attachments. You must attach the two logs from step 6 and you must install HJT properly per step 7's instructions.

Sorry about that...I have completed the steps and have attached the attachments.

    Thank you.

Step 6 asks for two logs!

Bitdefender and PandaActiveScan logs. That is what you need to attach.

Is your copy of Spy Sweeper the free 15 day trial version or a registered copy?

    Hi,

I saved the logs of Bitdefender and Panda in Safemode and saved it on my desktop in Safe Mode.
Is there a reason that it disappears from my desktop when I boot in Normal Mode?
I noticed it was there when I re-booted in Safe Mode again.

When I reboot in Normal mode it's not on my desktop anymore.

My Spyware Sweeper is a 15 day trial.

    Thank you.

You are probably logging into different user accounts in each mode.

Copy them from the Desktop in safe mode to a standard folder that is always available. Like C:\

    Bad idea to do this:
How long ago did you install Spy Sweeper?
Was it before or after your PC seems slow?
Have you done a full scan with it yet? Did you save the log?

  10. wooknightz

    wooknightz Private E-2

    yes i know...
spysweeper was installed about a week ago and that's when i notice the slowdown.

I just shutdown Spysweeper and opening up my documents and internet explorer was instant...so I'm assuming SpySweeper settings are somehow slowing the initial openings...i think it may be scanning???

Actually I have the SpySweepr log here.

You defintions are out of date for Spy Sweeper even though the log says they are current. It is wrong.

Any full blown spyware protection program like Spy Sweeper will slow a PC down. It is the price you pay to be safe while on the internet. Tools like antivirus and firewalls also cause a performance hit. The problem is that running without them is not really an option these days. The price you could pay for doing that could be much worse than living with the performance hit. That said, since you now have the free MS Windows Defender installed and you do not want two programs like this running and since Spy Sweeper's trial will expire soon, you may as well uninstall Spy Sweeper and see how things look afterwards. Sometime what works well on one machine, could cause problems on another.
