Computer Stuck In Weird Loop

Okay, I'm back. The washer will be an easy fix, if only computers were so...But I think you may turn me into a geek yet
Do I click Convert to GPT on the panel to the right to start?

 

Thanks, that's what I was confused about.
I converted to GPT (what is GPT anyway?) and now it says it is "Disk 0, Basic GPT", I went back to this post and right clicked the unallocated area to click Create...but now I can't click create! My options after right clicking here now are:
Surface Test
Properties

And the options on the right panel have changed to only the two above as well. So now how do I create a primary partition?

 

That's fine, I'm sure my friend wants to use my computer for a bit anyway. Have a good night!
