computer to tv conection

I dont know about video compatibility between pc & tv. I have managed to hook up an lcd tv to my laptop ok, but I gather that there needs to be some sort of conversion from "vga" for normal digital tvs....

With the following cable, could someone hook up a connection from the video out to a tv? (ie-15 pin to the scart in of the tv)

Having never heard of an SCART connection, I did some quick research and found that SCART is primarily found on products in the EU. Apparently converting from VGA to/from SCART requires more than a cable; some type of converter is needed. If you like building circuits, take a look at this. I'm not sure if the cable you linked to above has a converter built in to it. I also read this:

I think you need to do some fairly extensive research, but the cable you linked to is inexpensive enough to where it's not a big loss if it doesn't work.
