Last night my computer was working fine and happy everything normal, I turned it off nothing abmormal happened and went to work.

I came back and turned my computer on, the fans turn on, the cd drive opens and closes but my monitor doesnt do anything, my keybord and mouse dont work, other devices connected via usb dont work, apart from my mouses charger/wireless thing. Monitor will tell me its not plugged in if i d/c it from the computer and it is in power save mode. Keybord has no life at all.

I was going to try connecting a non-usb keybord but my computer doesnt have a connection for this (I'm really sorry i dont know what this type of connection is called).

I got a computer package from Dell called "Dell Dimension 9200" the model says DCTA. There are diagnostic lights on the front and the ones that light up are 1 3 4, The user manual gives no explanation for this code of the lights and i cant find anything on google.

I use windows Vista, I havnt recently installed any ney software or hardware.
I have opened the computer and made sure everything is connected properly.

Any ideas and help is greatly appreciated thankyou.

    Is there any beeps?

That could be the same as a bios beep code and 1-3-4 means the motherboard is bad according to the bios beep code.

I would try and call dell and ask them. Is the pc still under warranty?

    hey thanks for the reply.

There are no beeps at all, just the lights.

I think the warranty pretty much just ran out, I'll contact dell though.
If it is a motherboard problem is there anything I can do?

If it is the motherboard it will have to be replaced.

I would call dell and ask them what the error code means.

Hope your pc is still under warranty. It could also be a PSU problem to
