    Hi!

I've been having problems with malware recently. I've tried to remove it, and was eventually advised to use ComboFix. Although I've tried to run it few times, it just stopped after about half an hour.

When I tried to install automatic updates (or rather my computer did), the computer showed a blue screen error and restarted. Information came up that the windows couldn't be started normally and showed some options for normal start up or safe mode. Whatever option I choose it always does the same thing: it tries to run windows and then goes into a blue screen, switches off and starts up again. It's in some kind of a loop.

The information on the blue screen is as follows:
"A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent the damage to your computer (...) check to be sure you have adequate disc space (...) or check with the manufacturer for driver updates. (...) Check with your hardware vendor for any BIOS updates etc.

    Tachnical Information:
    ***STOP: 0x0000007E (0xC0000005, 0x8050D532, 0xF7A2E3B8, 0xf7A2E0B4). "

I suspect it might be a problem following the unsuccessful runs of Combofix. I don't think I switched off my computer since I've tried it. I usually keep it on hibernate; it's a Samsung netbook and I always carry it with me.

I don't know what to do. Please help!

The error message should have another line indicating what process is involved. Do you have that?

No, there wasn't anything else. The blue screen appears for about 2 seconds and then just goes off. I had to make a photo of it to work out what it was saying.

That stop error often refers to a driver issue. Did you try doing what I suggested in your malware thread?

No I haven't managed to do it yet. I was about to start when I got the automatic updates message. I didn't want for the computer to shut down in the middle of running Combofix, so I decided to go with the updates: it went to the blue screen while shutting down.

Try that first. Then lets see what results happen for us to deal with.

My computer hasn't got the discdrive and I don't have the disc with Windows on it. I'm a student living quite far away from home and all the stuff that came with the netbook is there.

Is there any other way to do it?

Thanks for the info. It seems to be a general problem with the most recent windows updates. I've seen few articles about it on the news websites.

I don't really have that much time to try to fix the problem myself. I went to the computer repair shop today. It should be fixed by tomorrow. Thanks for all the info and help!
