computer won't start

    woke up no power in house presume some sort of surge, flicked the switch back on in power box ahh power back on, later went to turn puter on , nothing, not a thing, there is a green light on the back which is flickering and making a slight clicking noise, I have a hp pavillion t840a and upgraded ram to 2gb and a new graphic card asus 9400gt 512mb about 1 year ago, not very computer savvy cept for easy stuff like ram and cards, hope you can help me.
    I do have a surge protector by the way and have changed power cords around but to no avail. HELP:cry

    Hi id say its just power supply is faulty ,remove check wattage on psu ,whether sata connectors on it and order similar on ebay.

    I have just read on another site that it may be the psu or the motherboard, how do I tell which one is the problemrolleyes

    Swap out the PSU (power supply) with a spare or one borrowed from a friend, and see if the issues go away.

    Best option for now, if the problem still persists, then you we have to start a troubleshooting process.
