computer

The computer I am thinking about buying has some firewire ports on it . What is firewire in layman's terms. I asked this question elsewhere and got a technical answer which I didn't understand.

is just anothers port to transfer data and you have USB port they are almost the same speed usb 2.0 and firewire.

Presently, FireWire boasts a top transfer speed of 400 Mbps (megabits per second).

USB 2.0 transfer data up to 480 Mbps (megabits per second).

The key between these two, IMO, is that USB 2.0 can get up to that speed, but firwewire is more consistent.

Firewire pretty much comes out on top.

Then you got FW 800, which blows away USB 2.0.

 

You forgot that everything is better on a Mac.....
