    Good morning , not sure what thread title to put this under, windos xp
    older computor I have system C and a spare D I would like to send some stuff like program files/documents to spare D is this possible,
    system C is running at about 98 o/o full lots of room on spare D.

    When faced with a space problem the first requirement is to find out how it is being used at present. Windows isn't good at explaining this but there are free third party utilities that are.

    The one I have found most useful is WinDirStat, though if you decide to use it do use the option to turn off the graphical representation which takes up half the screen and does nothing at all to aid understanding.

    Moving 'program files' folder to another partition will make most of your desktop & start menu shortcuts invalid. I wouldn't do it.

    Thank you for the info,I did get a lot of files moved and made room on my C drive, I do have a problem with deleting some files some say that they are writer protected?????
    if you could help me with that I'd apriciat it very much.
