Conficker Question

I keep my anti virus defs updated and also use Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and I have its latest version as well. I've run both of these and neither have found any malicious items on my computer. However, I heard if I cannot get to microsoft.com I could be infected. I cannot get to microsoft.com but i can get to the microsoft update site just fine and it tells me I'm fully updated. Do I have a concern here? Any other sites than microsoft.com i should be able to get to that might tell me if I'm infected or not?
