    Hello,

I am new to this forum, and this is kind of a last minute post, but I've been unable to find the answer I'm looking for through research...

I am currently running Windows XP with Service Pack 2, and am wondering if I have to update to Service Pack 3 to be protected from the Conficker worm set to "activate" April 1st.

All my other other Windows updates are current (I get them almost daily automatically - I've just been putting off installing Service Pack 3). I have McAfee AntiVirus, Adaware AE, and am quite certain I'm not infected at the moment.

Anyway, any advice would be appreciated. My system has been running decently, but has seemed slightly unstable at times, which is why I've been hesitant to install SP3 unless I have to.

Yes..you should update to SP3....it has patches for various security items.

As long as you are keeping your programs updated, then you should have no problem as long as you watch what you download and open.
