I'm not quite sure where to begin; perhaps with the symptom. Basically, I'm intermittently losing my internet connection. (I thought about putting this in the networking forum but I recently became infected with virtumonde and want to eliminate that as the cause first). I'm on wi-fi and my connection to the router remains constantly strong but it suddenly occurs that I can't connect to the internet for anywhere from a few seconds to ten minutes or longer. (aside from refreshing pages in my browser I can tell from my skype systray icon going from green to gray as it tries to reconnect).

This has been happening for a few weeks now, shortly after I stopped seeing other symptoms from the virtumonde infection. After I got infected I ran a variety of scans (spybot, ad-aware, spydoctor, perhaps others that I can't remember) but I sensed that it wasn't completely gone. Then the internet problems started. Finally I found these forums the other day and went through the malware removal steps, and so I'm attaching the logs, while humbly and very appreciatively asking for your help :)

There are a few things that actually make me think that this problem is completely unrelated to malware (in my fairly computer layman's mind):
    - my roommate, who also connects to the same router also mentioned similar problems, though it's not clear if they're identical as she was only here with her laptop briefly for a day over the last few weeks so it's difficult to really get a true test.
    - around the same time I tried to set up port forwarding for my bittorrent software (to download legal stuff) and thought perhaps I screwed something up there, BUT
    - I just in the last hour checked briefly at the computer that is hardwired into the modem (another apartment which I don't have easy access to) and it too had trouble connecting for moments, but these were usually resolved within one refreshing.

There are actually many more details but I don't want to ramble and I don't know what's important yet, so I'll wait for instructions before continuing in this way. Here are the scan logs.

Your logs are clean....I suggest you post in either software or networking. :)

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:

    1. We recommed you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no real time protection. They are useful as backup scanners. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /u
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /u, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.

      • Delete the C:\combofix folder from combofix (if it exists)

    3. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    4. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    6. You can delete the C:\MGtools folder and the C:\MGtools.exe file. You can also delete the C:\MGlogs.zip
    7. If you are running Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning steps in the READ ME for your Window version and see the steps to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.

    8. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
