I have Avira installed for antivirus, and today I switched to Comodo firewall (firewall only). Comodo has a program Viruscope. I know Avira has/is real-time protection, but is viruscope real-time protection also? ...and if so would that be a conflict with Avira real-time protection?

    Another ?:
I have spybot installed, and wanted to add another spyware program. I wanted to no If I could add one of the following Spyware Blaster or Super Antispyware.

I also have Malware bytes installed, with real-time protection disable.

There is such a thing as too much protection that will slow you down whereas using some common sense will help you more in the long run. That said, this is more opinion than a solution question.

If you have a router then you have a hardware firewall. Windows built in firewall, for most, is fine. It shouldn't conflict. Those are two large brand names.

Your spyware protection isn't the best. And the ones you want to use aren't the best. Spyware Blaster you only run once then update occasionally. It blocks things without running so you're fine there. The rest you don't need, you have Malwarebytes.

Now, are you getting infected all time? If not then you're way into overkill. If you are you could use a sandbox program or a better disaster recovery program like Acronis True Image or Macrium Reflect.

Okay, Thanks for the info. I thought I was doing the right thing, but I guess I was doing the right-wrong thing. I've since removed some of the clutter and only have MB and Spyware Blaster. I don't have a personal router, TWC is my internet provider. I don't have issues with getting infected all the time, at all "knock wood". Comodo Firewall has a sandbox, is that good enough? ... and I ditched Spybot.

Comodo Firewall is very good and Avira too. Here is some information in a thread about Comodo Firewall settings:

    https://malwaretips.com/threads/regarding-comodo.32666/

Not intending for you to use these settings, but you mentioned you would like to know more. The linked site is fabulously full of information on Comodo Firewall. If you search the site, try searching the user who created the Regarding Comodo thread (when you click on the search bar, you will see where to add the username), and you find will many, many highly informative threads on what to expect from Comodo's various features and so on. Really great.

You have a great combination, and I feel that you may ultimately choose to disable the Viruscope feature of CF, especially since Avira has such a good rep. With a little research, you should be able to decide one way or the other...

One last thing to eliminate confusion you may have. I believe it is still true and Comodo Firewall and Comodo Internet Security are completely separate products. The user who created the thread above speaks of CF, but you may see references to CIS in places. Again, I believe they are still separate products, but perhaps you could ask if confusion creeps in...

This thread may help you as a reference, although it is referring to CIS and NOT Comodo Firewall:
