Confused over sequence

Hi

I am about to do a spyware check on my computer
I have read and downloaded your post 35407 Running Spyware

I am just a bit confused
It says Disable system restore ... do I do this then turn off the computer and then start in safe mode and then start running the Ad Ware, VX2 and Spy Bot

Do I run the virus check when the system is in disable system restore mode or only in Safe mode

I have Norton on my computer... so I disabled the Restore system and ran my Norton... then went to turn it back on once the Norton had run and it had turned itself back on?

Norton found 0 viruses by the way

I have put all my system information onto a word page if you want me to post it... but not sure if that is relevant for this post

My system has been getting slower and slower... and I check Norton all the time.. so its not a virus.. well one that Norton is picking up.. I was going to do the on line scan you suggested with Trend Virus Scan but thought I should check with you first .. should system disable be off when I do this on line... I sort of felt it was wrong to go on line with system restore turned off for some reason

I am very computer illiterate..sorry

So with doing all the checking of viruses... I figure it must be something to do with spy ware or hacking or something... I am on line every day...

I will wait for your reply before doing anything else.. just in case I do a major boo boo
