    Yeah congrats Merkin Tile :)

@lbmest, have you given up or folding for a new team as I only just noticed your WUs are not as they used to be?

Not given up or folding elsewhere David.
Long story short - RL, intermittent and variable BSODs and I "think" I have a bad RAM slot that screwed a stick of RAM.
This past weekend was the first chance to really sit down and diagnose the problem. I waited until I got home this evening to see if my comp was still folding before posting back.
I was even getting BSODs at stock settings at just the desktop, no apps except security and AV.
I just have to figure what my next move as this mobo was a warranty replacement anyway. Not too sanguine on my chances of dealing with another RMA back to ASUS and frankly not too happy with the product at this point anyway.

on the subject of ASUS motherboards:

I personally do not understand or comprehend the good or greatness of this brand,it could be that the two motherboards I've not had the pleasure to operate are hand me downs, but always a pain for me to have up and running smoothly.

just my 2ยข on this subject

as a side note ECS motherboards are another brand I stay clear of.

    Hi John

Good to know and not good on the variable BSODs, never good ones to fault find are the ones that trhow up varaious codes.

Which ASUS board have you got? I've been mulling the idea of going back to Intel Desktop boards again, I have an ASUS P6T Deluxe v2 at present and its been fine, Gigabyte and MSI I've been happy with previously and ECS and a few others never tried due to reading feedback comments.

P6T Deluxe V1 (Great minds and all that.;))
I don't know if my OC blew the first one. The 4 pin/8 pin CPU power connection burnt up. The original connector had a cover over half of the pins so I used the 4 pin while the replacement board connector was completely uncovered. Problem with too much juice in 4pin? Replacement worked fine for 3 months and then the blue screens started. I can populate the A1, B1 and C1 slots but using A2 and B2 or A2 and C2 throws it.
I'll have to do some more research but I'm leaning to Gigabyte for the OC features. We'll see, though funds will be the factor right now.

I have a feeling the V2 boards where alot more stable than the V1s, cannot remember where I read this but it was something that made me hold off for a few months on this build because of the comments from users.

Yeah Gigabyte do have some great boards and features.
