I have several questions regarding connecting my Maxtor Mini One Touch III to my Linksys NSLU2 which is connected to a Linksys hub, which also has 2 PC's networked. I currently have a flash drive plugged into the NSLU2 and can access it from either PC, no problem...all that's working fine.

What I want to do: Use the drive on my network to hold files that I can access from either PC or remotely access the drive via the net.

    1. The NSLU2 beeps when I try to power the Maxtor via the USB port. I think I need an external power supply.

    2. The Maxtor is formatted NTFS and the NSLU2, I think wants FAT32. I need to get the NSLU2 to recognize the drive....it doesn't.

    3. Is there a way to "spin down" the drive so it's not running 24/7 as my network is?

Any guidance would be appreciated!! confused
