    HI
I am running windows xp. About every 5 to 10 min., I am getting an email which thankfully my firewall is catching and letting me know it has a virus. They are coming from all different email addresses.
This is coming on my main email address. Is with Outlook Express. I only have that address on 2 websites. This *(which I now have changed). and on a gaming site I belong to. Rankmonster.com which I have belonged to for 3 years/ I have chaged that one, too. It is probably too late but am trying anything I know.. I don't know if someone got my address from somewhere and is spamming everyone's address, or what is going on.

I have ran Adaware which deleted a few cookies. Spybot was clean. Bitdefender and RAV were both clean. I ran ccleaner. Stinger was clean also.
I don't know what else to do? Am I ok as long as my firewall is catching these viruses and I am not opening them? Or is there something else going on?

As I wrote this received 2 more. I am just deleting them, but sure is a pain in the you know what.

Thanks for any advice on this.
    Gal

This morning when I got up and connected, I had 15 new emails. All with this crap.
Is it just someone mad at me trying to give me a virus? Do I just wait it out?
Maybe it isn't even a spyware issue? Just someone being stupid trying to send me a virus?

Sometimes if your infected this can occur, but in most cases its just unwanted Spam.

    http://www.majorgeeks.com/images/grenade.gif Download HijackThis 1.99.1

http://www.majorgeeks.com/images/grenade.gif Unzip the hijackthis.exe file to a folder you create named C:\Program Files\HJT

http://www.majorgeeks.com/images/grenade.gif Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder, or a sub-folder of C:\Documents and Settings, or choose to run it directly from the ZIP file as your backups will not be safely stored.

http://www.majorgeeks.com/images/grenade.gifBefore running HijackThis: You must close each of the following:your web browser, e-mail client, instant messenger, and programs like notepad, wordpad, MS Word etc. And any other unnecessary running programs.

http://www.majorgeeks.com/images/grenade.gifRun HijackThis and save your log file.

http://www.majorgeeks.com/images/grenade.gif Post your log as an ATTACHMENT to your next post. (Do NOT copy/paste the log into your post as it will be removed).

    Here is my log.
Got home from work and had 35 more............They sure are tricky on how they try to get you to open them. I am thinking it is just someone being stupid, but attatched the log.
Thanks for taking the time to look at it for me.

Your HJT log is clean and you have proper protection. Most likely just unwanted spam crap. Have you tried any of the spam blockers?

Thank you bj for looking at it. Guess I get a little paranoid sometimes.
The emails have stopped now, too.
MY IP is just starting up a new spam blocker, but with these the headings were hello, miss you, your request, things like that that I probably wouldn't have those words blocked anyways.
I'll have to just keep watching and NOT openeing any attachments I don't know.

    Thanks again
