Constant freezing and buzzing

Hey,

I recently build a new computer with the following specs;

i7 2600k
intel 520 120gb SSD
ASRock Fatal1ty Z77 performance motherboard
OCZ Fatal1ty 750 W PSU
G.Skill Ripjaws-X 8GB 2133 kit
Gainward GTX580 pahantom
Seagate 1TB 7200 hdd
Seagate 500gb 7200 hdd
Haf 932 case
Windows Home premium 64-bit

and after about 20 minutes of idle my computer freezes and requires a hard restart.
Then randomly it will freeze but also make a loud buzzing noise from my speakers.

I have used a PSU calculator and have more than enough Watts for my parts. I have run a memory test and had no errors, everything is correctly connected and I have drivers up to date and have re installed windows several times now.

Is your CPU Placed in correctly Is your desktop giving off a alot of heat while its on.

 

It is in correctly and it isn't hotter or colder than my last build. I should have mentioned I am using the intel water cooler thermal solution, but it is all in firm.

 

Unplug your speakers and let me know if there are any abnormal sounds coming from the computer itself.

Also describe exactly what happens when the computer freezes? Are both keyboard and mouse unresponsive? Did the screen just go completely black and you can't get it to come back up? More details will get you better answers

 

It is definitely coming from the speakers since when it happens I turn them off and the sound goes away.

I cannot pin point when exactly it happens but my mouse and keyboard are unresponsive and my screen shows everything that was there before it froze. I have to hold the power button down and hard restart it.

Another strange thing is that sometimes my computer wont even get past the post screen. but I would assume it is because of the messy restart.

 

Do you have a Front jack and a back jack for the Speakers try the Front jack if you got one

 

Yes, I have my speakers in the back and my headphones in the front. I have tried without any audio devices plugged in and it still froze.

 

Also, my clock keeps changing/not updating if that helps with anything.

 

Try powering on the computer with 1 stick of RAM. I suspect one of them may be bad.

If it freezes with the 1 stick, swap it with the stick you left out previously and see if it does the same thing.

Create a bootable image out of the .ISO file there (http://www.memtest.org/download/4.20/memtest86+-4.20.iso.zip)

Then allow to run a test on the memory by booting from the newly created CD. Remember you have to burn it as an image (NOT data).

 

I am all so thinking that Grounding is a issue with your speakers try your computer in a different outlet.And see if that helps.The outlets you are using could be going bad or have a bad Grounding issue.

 

I have already run a mem test, I have tried different ram and that seemed to fix it (I was able to play games, watch several hours of youtube) until my computer crashed and automatically turned off with this other ram in. I am now thinking it could be my power supply.

As to the grounding, my last computer was plugged into the exact same port and it worked fine.

 

I have narrowed it down to my motherboard and using a spare AMD board until I get a replacement.
