Conversion from mp4 to mp3 or at least usable. Yeahhhhhh IPOD!

I need something to convert my iTunes files (mp4a) into mp3. I buy the music, download it and it works great on the ipod. When I decide to download it onto a cd for use in the car, my car spits it back at me with an error. Anyone know of a program, preferrably free, that will do the conversion. Hopefully one that is dummy proof.

 

I dont know if you can convert Itunes files. If you could, they would have a huge problem with file sharing. Also why you can only use your Ipod one one computer. However, there are ways to get around it
