Hi to everyone and apologies if I get this post in the wrong forum - I`ve looked about and this looks most appropriate but if not please let me know and I will remove.

I have a .avi file which I want to convert to a video file which I can then burn onto a dvd to play at home. Can anyone explain in the simplest terms ( I have not done this before) how to go about this.

    DVD R/RW drive check
    Blank DVD-R disc check

Just need to know what software to use - running XP.

    Thanks

hi, why do you need to convert .avi into video when it's already a video format? DVD burning applications such as Nero can burn .avi onto a blank DVD.

I use TMPGenc Xpress 3.0 and TMPGenc DVD Author 1.6, these programs are not free, but do an excellent job and have extermely simple wizards.
