Converting External USB HD to internal?

I have a 250GB Western Digital External USB Hard Drive (Model #WD2500B015,WD support site for my drive), and have been wondering if it would be possible to disassemble it, and use it as my primary (C:/) drive. I got the idea from seeing the inclosures at Staples, that allows you to turn an internal IDE into an external USB drive. Is it possible to reverse this process? My primary right now is a Maxtor 200GB and it appears that the write/read times are slowing significantly (just my guess due to slower boot/load times even after boot time defrag using O&O v8.5 Pro).

Thanks as always for any help with this issue.

Yes of course you can, just remove the hard drive from the casing as you planned, and go ahead and install it in your PC, if using it as your primary drive make sure the jumper setting is correct, refer to the manufacturers web site for the correct jumper position.

Thanks! Maybe moving my paging file to here would help speed things up a bit.
