converting microsoft web cam to security camera

Would this security camera setup be for indoors or outdoors?

What Windows version would you be using?

TBH it maybe worth looking for a dedicated system for this, at your local PC store, but failing that the only way you are likely to do this is to buy a small microphone to use in conjunction with the webcam, and then the hard part is finding some dedicated security software that accepts input from both as using WLMessenger is not going to work.

Off hand I dont know of any sonftware that you could use that doesnt come as part of a kit (kit would include the webcam and mic)

Yeah a challenge is great in computing and this HERE maybe of interest to you, or at least give you some other ideas to think about.

I will ponder this question more over the next few days and see if I can come up with a solution, but I think the lack of microphone on the webcam maybe the biggest issue you have

But do let me know if this is going to be an indoor or outdoor item?

Which model LifeCam do you have as some have Microphones and some dont?
