cookie 2o7. (I know.. cookies aren't spyware)

Well my dad's freaking out over this cookie that keeps coming back. He's using AVG and whenever he opens firefox it says that a file called cookie.txt is a threat but can't be cleaned. So I went into the folder and deleted it. It went away, he opens up firefox again and it comes back. So I install spybot, adaware, updated avg, and installed comodo. None of them found anything wrong (besides avg finding it but not being able to fix it). So is there anything to be worried about this returning cookie problem?

Really depends on where it is showing up and which version of AVG you have. If you are concerned about malware......Please follow the instructions in the below link and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.

If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going.

Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not.

2. If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools on another PC and burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.
