After running Ad-Ware SE Personal (FREE version), I keep getting this durn cookie and I cannot figure out how to block it. I use IE Privacy/Site/Block to prevent other cookies from loading, but IE says it is an invalid domain.

I get this cookie at least 10 times a day, 7 days a week and it is driving me spiffy!!

    The cookie is called: ~~local~~

Here is information from the cookie file:

Cookies are really not problems to be that concerned with. And ST_GN_EN-US is normally associated with support.microsoft.com

However you may want to verify that you do not have any malware issues on you PC, the method for doing this is included below and these logs would also give us better info on what cookies are actually being seen on your system.

Please follow our standard cleaning procedures which are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.
    • Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support
    • Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.
    • Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.
    • After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:
    • When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too (these scans are covered in steps 6 & 7 of the READ & RUN ME sticky)
      • Bitdefender
      • Panda Scan
      • HijackThis

Sorry for taking so long to get back to you. The problem has been resloved, for now. My system went bellie-up and I had to reformat and re-install from scratch.

But, I will keep all the above file and info and if it starts happening again, I will get back to you.

    Thanks again,
    RwsRichard

PS: Just wish to heck I knew what had caused it to begin with.
