Cookie question

Not a malware issue but not sure where else to ask this.

I have tried the three available cookie viewers/removers but not sure if they are doing what I want. For example, I visit a forum where I've been in the past and where I am a member). In the list of viewers, there is my call name! I don't understand. I run CT cookie spy, Karen's Cookie viewer and cookie monster but my call name still appears. I also run ATF cleaner and lavasoft. So what gives?

Thanks for the info. I realize cookies aren't necessarily evil. I just like to have a little more control over who's watching if you know what I mean.
