1. Problem:

My Pc has slowed down quite a bit. I was running avast for a while when I was on dial up, waiting for a better internet connection then I got high speed and updated my SBCyahoo software and it came with protection so I deleted avast.

Now my PC slows down and I run spybot S&D and it hangs up, I look at the bottom bar and I see COOLWWWsearchfeat2dill and a few other coolwww files. I realise its not suspose to be there and Spybot does not detect it.

I get pissed off and delete protection from Yahoo and there browser, than I delete firefox and motzilla. I upgrade IE. Still slow.

It has not taken over my browser but things are slow and I hear a mouse click every once in a while so I know theres something going on.

I search the internet and found this forum. I followed the instructions, ran all the programs recomended and found a few cookies and deleted them. but when it came to coolwww...nothing.

Now have both log files. Although nothing was found on one I saved it anyway as instructed. This has taken several hours I hope someone can help me.

well I guess you have my email address, Hopefully Im able to attach the files properly.

    Mike

Your logs give no indication that your problem is releated to Malware. You do not have a CoolWebSearch infection. That is Spybot's Status Bar; which, display what Spybot's is currently looking for.

  3. Ok,

Thanks for taking a look. Any Idea what I'm hearing?
Every few minutes I hear the sound of a mouse double clicking.

I just assumed that's what is slowing down everything.

Is it a mouse click or more like a clink-clank sound?

  5. The sound i hear is "click click" the same sound I hear when I click on a link but twice in a row. Can you think of anything that causes that?

    Thanks

Bear with me the questions I ask are to narrow down the problem.

Where does the sound come from, the speakers or the computer case?

  7. I usally use a headset. This is a laptop. So I hear the sounds through the headset. Same sound as when I click on a link but twice, one right after the other.

There are no signs of malware in the log.

You may want to inquiry about this in the software or hardware forum.
