I am running Windows 7 ultimate and last night when i shut down the PC it spent some time doing Windows updates so i am not sure if it is related??

I am not able to copy and paste under any circumstances, websites, documents and so on.

    All other functions are OK.

    Any ideas please.

I have not used system restore and do not want to do it if possible.

    Hi Bill

I was looking online for this problem and found this fix that worked for someone:

Go for Start-->Run-->services.msc in the right pane
Try to start/ Restart the following services
    1.Network DDE DSDM.
    2. Network DDE.
    3.Clipbook.
Restart the system . Now you will able to copy and paste.

    Have you tried that?

From everything I've read it seems to be a problem with the Clipbook/Clipboard

Thanks Laura but non of those network services are available in "services.msc"

It's not a huge deal because i am going to reformat in about a week when i install my new GPUs.
It,s just a pain in the a** having to type in web addresses.

    So Ctrl + V and Ctrl + C aren't working either?

What? Reformat if you wish but you don't have to.

@ Laura NO nothing working there.

@ Augie i have got a PC full of junk and am too lazy to do it the hard way, so i save all my good stuff and reformat.

Hehehe, in that case go right ahead! Heck, W7 must install darn quicker on that i7 than the 20 min. it takes on my quad. I should make a vLite disk with drivers and apps, a project for the fall.

I'm sure you know this already Bill, but Sys Restore can be reversed if it doesn't sort it. That's what I'd try anyway.

Thanks i do know that but because of all the junk i have in here i will wait to reformat.

System restore is good as long as you have not securely deleted progs that you have been free trialing and it brings just parts of them back, that's my reason.
I am a sucker for downloading free trials :-o

Then I recommend you take the free trial of Wondershare Time Shuttle. I've been using it intensively for a couple of months and it is simply unbelievable - restore your system Acronis style in about three minutes, including the reboot. Create a new system snapshot in a few seconds, and all without requiring any disk space. It's the ultimate system restore :cool

Hmm, I wonder if you got updates before I did, my last one was dated 4/27. It's not yet patch Tuesday either so I wonder what you did get? Mine is W7 X64 Ult and I assume yours is too Bill. Can you please state the KB's? Maybe it's something we should all watch for.

    Just C&P the KB#'s Bill.:p;):-D

    I couldn't resist.:wave
