copying cd's

    Well I'll start off with an oxymorron ,I'm an
    old noobe.

    Actually I have build a comp. for my brother and want to
    install farcry on his new comp.The problem is I keep getting
    dialog box when I try to copy disc one of farcry.Reading not completed
    could not read from disc
    (sector 940)

    I'm trying to put on HD them write to new CD.Also I have memorex
    music CR-R disc ? to write to.:confused:

    It's probably some type of copy protection. I would doubt you will find help here on how to get around it.

    It will require special software capable of copying and emulating game CD copy protections. These are not particularly cheap or easy to use. You would be better off (and cheaper, too) to just buy a second copy . And as it's already been mentioned, it is a violation of the software license to install it on two different machines.

    It's because of SafeDisc protection.

    The read errors are there by design (in the first 10 000 sectors) to prevent you from copying.

    It can easily be done, but it's not something I will go into. (and don't PM me either)
