Copying Saved HTML Pages To External Drive

    Hello MajorGeeks,
I have a few complete web pages stored on my computer. I want to copy these onto an external hard drive, but have been getting a most perplexing (to me, anyway) message whenever I attempt the operation. The message pretty much says that if the operation continues, a file known as "thumbs.db" could be lost from the original file. I am then prompted to continue or cancel the operation.

However, if I write these files to a disc, I have no difficulty doing so.

I want to copy the HTML documents along with their associated picture folders to the drive.

If there is a better way to do this, or you know how I can prevent any loss of this file, please let me know. Thank you so much.

Pretty sure that the thumbs.db file is just some sort of data base for pic files. Nothing to worry about.

edit - Just came across this>>

Stop Windows from saving the thumbnail cache (THUMBS.DB)

    Intended For
    Windows XP only

Windows XP, by default, shows the thumbnails view of certain folders, whether you want it to or not. Even if you choose Details (or some other view) as your default by going to Tools -> Folder Options -> View tab and click Apply to All Folders, Explorer may still revert back to the clumsy Thumbnails view. It does this for any folder in which it finds the THUMBS.DB file; naturally, if you delete this file, it won't happen again.
The problem is that Windows seems to repeatedly recreate the THUMBS.DB file automatically. Here's how to stop this from happening:

In Explorer, go to Tools -> Folder Options or open the Folder Options icon in the Control Panel.
Choose the View tab, and turn off the Do not cache thumbnails option.
    Click Ok.
You can also change this setting in the Registry:

    Open the Registry Editor (regedit.exe).
    Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced.
Double-click the DisableThumbnailCache value, or go to Edit -> New -> DWORD value to create a new value by that name.
    Enter 1 for its value.
Click Ok and close the Registry Editor when you're done; you'll have to log off and then log back on for this to take effect.

Thanks for the reply, Hipster Doofus.

The strange thing, though, is that when I tried to view the pages I did save to the external drive, they did not save properly. Some images were replaced with the ubiquitous red "x" square that I am sure many of you have seen a few times  Does this "thumbs.db" file have something to do with images and links contained in an HTML file? Thank you all again.

    Hey Guys,
So, does it sound like I am copying these HTML files wrong, or is there another way to complete the operation? I do not want to damage the original files either. Thanks for any suggestion.

just copy the thumbs.db file as well.

if you're getting red x's, then the images are not in the proper paths (check the code).
