Copying Set-up To New Win Pc

I have a new Windows 10 PC & would like to transfer all of my programmes, files & settings from my old Win10 PC. I'm assuming that I can't just pull the drive from the new PC, slave it in the old PC & clone the old drive to the new as the 2 versions of Win10 will have different serial Nos.

Is there some software available which will do the transfer for me without me having to re-install everything?

 

I strongly advise you ignore any claims you may come across that this can be done. It can't. Just reinstall and reconfigure.

I wasn't aware of this. Just gotta hope it actually does what it says on the tin.

 

We ended up using a programme called FastMove which did a pretty good job of moving programmes, files & settings from the old to new PC. There were a few programmes it could not move but it has saved a lot of set up time. It was a paid for programme but not expensive &, in my view, well worth it.
