Uninstall the driver in Device Manager (assuming Windows), and shutdown. Install new video card and restart. Enter BIOS setup, and disable onboard video. Save changes and exit. Windows will detect new card and prompt for it's drivers.

When your in bios, ya may have some other settings like Enable AGP or PCI and a couple others to accomadate your new video card.

I have Windows XP Home Edition and in the BIOS under Video I do not see anywhere you can disable onboard video, all the video options I see are PCI or AGP, I have that set right because if I go into device manager and disable the onboard video I have no problems but I have to do it everytine I boot and it loads the drivers for the onboard everytime I reboot , how can i make this stop??
    any help is appreciated,,
    Thanks '
    Dan
