Apparently my system file has been corrupted (possibly a virus?) The notebook won't boot from HD/CD/floppy. I can't even get to the BIOS. Nothing appears on the screen. Power light and fan are the only indications of life.

I put the HD into another notebook (2000), which told me about the corrupt system file. I couldn't use the system restore CD because the other machine is a Dell (mine is an HP).

    Suggestions?
