Wondering if you can help me? I have several Gb of mpeg (and jpg) files that won't open anymore. My computer crashed completely and I forgot about the files and started to format the drive. Then realising what I nearly did, I ran a file recovery program over the drive, consequently being able to save (I thought) my files. The videos where recorded in Ulead Video Studio if that helps. Any suggestions? Hope you can help as I am desperate to get them back - they where of a jam session of a couple of musicians I know.

Do the files have the correct extension on them?

Perhaps if you add the correct extension, you could view them.

Also, can you open the files by starting ULead and navigating to the file you want to open?

The files have the .mpg extension and Ulead refuses to open them. Comes back with 'invalid format'. No program can open them. I downloaded a demo of some wizz bang program worth $7000 odd dollars called mpeg repair and that couldn't open them either. What's gone wrong here? They are certainly taking up room on the harddrive-something is there. Any suggestions......help!!
