I have a client who has a corrupt print spooler. All of the sudden for her all in one HP photosmart 6310 the printer is missing and when you try to add it says operation cannot be complete printer spooling is not running. I go to services says automatic and when i try to start it says print spooler cannot start. Is there a way to reinstall the spooler? also i know microsoft has fix it utility not sure if that would work. Any suggestions

how long ago did the problem start? Is system restore turned on and a restore point available? That might be your quickest out.

If SR isn't an option, look at the event log around the time the problem first occurred and see if there are any clues there.

Finally, there may be corruption of spooler filesm you can try an sfc /scannow to replace any damaged system files.

yes, you would need the cd (or a cd of the same flavor) since that's where sfc pulls the replacment files from.
