Could this be a Virus?

I've been having issues lately where my computer will suddenly seize up before going to a black screen as though it's just gone to sleep or is switching/closing a game (there's still a backlight, but the screen is black). I have to force a shutdown to get it running again. It runs great besides this, and I've had no other virus-related problems that I am aware of beside a few bugcodes which haven't happened to me for a while now.

I have a handful of theories - twice when it's happened i've been attempting to archive a rather substantial file on my external harddrive using winrar. the 3rd and last time it's happened, i was attempting a manual backup of my C: drive onto the external.

I've run both a scan using MalwareBytes and a full sweep using ComboFix. I figured ComboFix would get anything stray floating around, but it still happened the one last time despite the fix.

Any comments/theories/suggestions? I haven't managed to find anything serious so far, but im still baffled - i've had some mystery drives installed on my computer which i disabled and uninstalled...i'm just reaching dead ends. Each time I think i've figured it out, something else comes up. What could I be missing?

More than likely not malware related.

Not topic for this forum, however...

Then to rule out malware as the cause you would have to attach the requested logs from running the READ and Run Me First procedures.

Attach the logs and i'll go through them, if nothing to do in the way of removal of baddies then you can visit the software forum or wherever appropriate to resolve what issues remain.
