hi new here and very much a novice but having problems with our computer.
we had a web address that showed in the drop down bar that neither of us have typed in. this was for a free wallpaper site.
this also showed if we looked in history and google it was there as a search with the exact web address. also a day later the internet options window kept opening and temporary internet files were deleted twice ( i am not sure if cookies were deleted)
this website has previously shown on favorites as well.
i don't understand why it would show in the dropdown bar if it hadn't been typed in and why it showed in historyas a google search which normally has to be typed in too.
my husband due to his work goes on a lot of music tecnology sites both to buy equipment and to download software. he has downloaded quite a lot of free software recently.there are quite oftren popups even though we have a blocker. also one equipment site had a problem and the product links went to porno images. bu the web address for these were different to the one that seems to have been in strange places on our computer.could we have a trojan/ spyware and would that do the above things.thanks for your haelp

Ok the address in the drop down bar probably is the address of one of the popups you are experiencing.

Popups can come from sites you visit, or from malware on your system.

TO be on the safe side lets go through a few steps and check your system.
