Couldnt Open the Boot Partition to Check for Signature

I have a Dell Poweredge 4399/600 server that I have been experimenting with.
P3 600mhz
512mb (R)ECC pc100
8 SCSI 9gb hdd

I've had W2K running with raid 0 also had raid 1 and 5.
I've also had XP run on it with similar raid set ups.
I have reformated several times all has went OK, learning alittle here & there.

I decided to just load W2K and get ready to sell or trade this rig.
Now when I try to load windows the setup just goes into a loop, when setup begins, at the top of the window, above "windows set up" I get this message "Couldnt open the boot partition to check for a signature"
The set up runs loads files etc then reboots as usuall but then the setup just starts all over again.
When I loaded windows before I never got that message.
I ran Dell diagnostics, dos program, everything checks out.

Anyone have help to offer?

P.S. Maybe Santa can open my boot partition and check a signature?

 

The only thing I can think of is if in your bios you have any kind of boot sector protection enabled

No nothing like that in bios, Bios setting are pretty slim.
I even did bios update & firmware and sata drivers updates, still in the same boat or loop in my case.

I googled that phrase and their are some things but you will have to sort thru them to see if any will help, try it.
