Counter Strike Problems!

When I play Counter Strike v 1.6. At random times the screen will just exit the game and show my desktop but I can only see the top left corner of the screen. Its very annoying and I have tried to reinstall it too. Nothing has worked. Also if anyone knows, what do i label the .wad documents in the cstrike folder for the spray tags's?

 

Just curious, but this wouldn't be happening when you press Alt+Tab would it?

 

Either that or something else is popping up .. can you right click and change te resolution and see the entire desktop?
Does the game crash or can you alt-tab back in?

 

No i dont press alt+tab and my resoultion is at 1152 x 864. And I only see the top left corner and SOMETIMES it does this.

 

It seems that that has stopped but now when i get to precaching resources it says kernel32 has caused an error in USER32 then my computer freezes.

 

You probably do have the resolution set for 1152 - but CS sets it way lower... that is why you only seeing a bit of the screen... so if you could resize it during this fiasco maybe *we'd* see the problem.

Tried doing a sfc /scannow?
