Counting Occurrences of Alpha Info in a column

    I have a very large (purchased) spread sheet/database. Is there any way to get a count of individual occurrences (Alpha Format)? Such as Baseballs, Soccer Balls, Footballs, Soft Balls, Pool Balls, etc.? Preferably one that would tell me how many of each, but even a Total would help.

    This is in Excel 2010 format.
