Cox Email

Is the worst garbage ever. At least 3-4 times a day, my mail client times out trying to contact it. Gmail is more reliable.

 

Gmail = the best

 

Its irritating, because my school stuff comes in through Cox. I know its not my computer, because it picks one of two accounts to error out on. Its never the same one, all the time.

 

I find any ISP blocking mail port 25 annoying. I don't want to be a yahoo user but have to send via yahoo sendmail due to port 25 being blocked.

When I lived in another state, Cox was so bad it was not funny. I used to call and instantly ask for level 2 support. The newb would declare I can help you until I told them Read the notes and transfer me so we are both happier.

They re-ran the optic cables all the way from my modem to the switch (about 3 miles away) to repair what they could not fix. I used to call every day. 72k was not acceptable when I was paying for 1500. They were convinced I was splitting the signal and after the 4th visit from tech support and the 3rd modem they began running new optic cable. Sad thing is the lady I sold the home to ran AOL dialup so that tweaked great connection sits unused.

 

Their email is my only trouble, and yes, port 25 blocks are damn annoying.

 

i won't check my cox email from their webmail. right now i have it forwarded to my yahoo via pop and i check that way while at work, and when i'm at home i use thunderbird.
