CPU at 97% - Help Please

Firstly I have to tell you I am not PC orientated, so do not understand technical jargon, I did read the message before posting and can tell you the following.

My OS is Windows XP
AMD XP 3000+
2.16GHz - 512 ram

I have Norton Anti Virus and firewall which are both upto date I also run spysweeper which is upto date.

My machine is running very slow, when I checked the CPU it seems to be constantly at 97% on the advice of a friend I have run the programme hijack this, but I have no idea what the information means, so I would appreciate some help. I am worried I have some sort of virus but Norton has not detected anything.

 

You need to follow the recommendations in the Spyware Forum first.

HijackThis on it's own is not used for removal of nasties and as you found out, can be quite confusing...it is not recommended for 'casual' use. I am moving your thread to the Spyware forum where you can get additioanl assistance. A quick look at your log does reveal a couple nasties in there so please follow the steps in this thread >> Basic Spyware, Trojan And Virus Removal, << then post back in this thread giving some information on what you found if anything and any problems you may have encountered. At that point you will get further guidance with HijackThis.

I was workin on a reply after I edited out the log! I wouldn't leave it just like that LOL Now if my monitor would just cooperate....
